Mark joined the Hanley Economic as CEO in November 2016 having previously been Chief Operating Officer at Abbey National/Santander and Virgin Money.  Before entering banking, Mark had a career in food retailing working for Sainsbury’s and Greggs.  Mark has a Masters degree in Business from Cranfield University and a first degree from the University of East Anglia.  Mark is Chair of the BSA’s Simpler Firm Working Group that has led discussions on the new SDDT requirements for non-systemic building societies.
