Dr Kanhu Charan Pattnayak is a climate scientist with over nine years of post-doctoral research experience on climate change’s multifaceted impacts. His current project at the University of Leeds aims to study the climate-related risks and associated financial losses.

Kanhu has a PhD in climate science from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and has held research positions at the University of Leeds, the National Environment Agency of Singapore, and the NCMRWF of India. His research has focused on the impacts of climate change on a variety of sectors, including the Indian monsoon, Amazon Rainforest, food security in Africa, and water resources in Singapore. He has published over 27 research papers in top-tier journals and has served as a reviewer for the IPCC AR6 report. He is a passionate advocate for climate action and is committed to using his research to help policymakers and industry leaders make informed decisions about climate change adaptation and mitigation
