Jeremy Palmer

Building Societies Association

Jeremy is the Head of Prudential Policy and Regulation at the BSA, representing members’ interests on all aspects of prudential regulation, wholesale market activity and treasury management. After 14 years at the BSA he will be retiring later in 2022.

Before joining the Association in 2008, he worked at the Financial Services Authority on regulatory policy for both building societies and credit unions, having moved across to the FSA in 1999 from the former Building Societies Commission ( part of the old Registry ) where he started in 1989, and worked from 1995 to 1997 on the Bill that became the Building Societies Act 1997. Up until 1989 he worked in merchant banking, after graduating from Merton College, Oxford in 1980.
