Erel leads on Financial Health in the multiple long-term conditions programme at Impact on Urban Health. We know that the relationship between poor health and poor finances are inextricably linked. The Financial Health portfolio seeks to support initiatives at the systems level that will improve financial health and financial resilience in order to protect health.
She has worked in various voluntary sector roles including youth, financial inclusion, advocacy and advice, as well as in the banking sector. She has developed resources, training and provided consultancy on financial inclusion strategies for voluntary sector organisations.
After completing an MA in Anthropology and Youth Work at Goldsmiths, University of London she embarked on setting up a number of organisations for the good of her community. These have included initiatives such as Set Fashion Free, a fashion, culture and enterprise programme for young people where she partnered with the British Museum, the V&A and other academic and corporate institutions, and the Ministry of Thrift where she developed financial inclusion resources including digital for some of largest housing associations in the country.
