Emad Aladhal is Director of the Retail Banking Directorate. The directorate is responsible for the regulation of the largest and most complex retail banking groups and building societies, as well as smaller firms that operate in the sector. The directorate comprises several departments that focus on supervision, market analysis and policy. Prior to this role, Emad was Director of the FCA’s Specialist Directorate, which included: Financial Crime; Office for Professional Body Anti-Money Laundering Supervision (OPBAS); Financial Resilience; Client Assets; Resolution & Insolvency; and Technology, Resilience & Cyber.
Prior to re-joining the FCA, Emad was a Compliance Director at a top tier investment bank as EMEA head of Compliance for Investment Bank & Private Bank Operations and Corporate Functions. He also has prior extensive experience as a regulatory consultant, where he has advised on various aspects of regulation.
