Deputy Director of the Banking and Credit Team
David Raw has worked within HM Treasury since 2005, working in a variety of Tax roles – including Gambling Tax, Stamp Duty Land Tax, and Real Estate Investment Trusts – before a stint working on Counter Terrorist Financing. Since then David has worked in the Strategy, Planning and Budget group, before joining the Financial Services group as Head of the Competition in Banking Unit in BAC. After this David did a short stint in the Cabinet Office working on Cyber Security, before returning as Deputy Director for BAC.
The Banking and Credit team leads on the cross cutting competition in banking agenda, including Fintech and payments, as well as opening up SME access to finance, wider Retail banking policy, Building Societies and Credit Unions policy, mortgages, and Help to Buy Mortgage Guarantee.
