David has extensive experience in contentious regulatory work, with a particular focus on FCA, PRA, PSR and other financial services investigations. David is a familiar figure in the building society sector, having advised a number of societies on contentious regulatory issues including regulatory inquiries and investigations, complaints before the Financial Ombudsman Service (including complaints being dealt with under the regulators’ wider implications framework), society governance issues, and contentious regulatory issues in transactions between firms. He has regularly presented at past BSA events, in particular the BSA’s regular training seminars for new non-executive directors. His recent experience includes (among other things) advising a number of societies on matters involving whistleblowing, handling customer complaints, and compliance with the 1986 Act.
