As Chief Information / Transformation Officer, Darrell Jaggers leads First West Credit Union’s combined Information Technology and Operations, and Agile Enterprise teams, while shepherding First West’s digital transformation enterprise wide. Darrell is a vital part of the First West Leadership team. As a distinguished and talented executive with over 30 years of IT and financial services experience, Darrell has built a strong reputation as an IT professional and inspiring leader who has an innate ability to accelerate change through his deep understanding of technology and people. This is evident in his ability to catalyze and advance Enterprise Agility to nine cross functional agile squads across two pods, including two squads specifically focused on driving business transformation, in only short two years. Within the financial sector he has differentiated First West’s Enterprise Agility through his combination of fearless leadership and an approach that is rooted in knowledge of First West’s innovative business model. Darrell has taken an aspirational vision and transformed it into a new reality infused with an agile mindset that spans all areas of the business, from our Board of directors to member facing staff, and all areas in between, each engaging within newly created agile ways of working.
He has a proven track record of successful enterprise system conversions and technology implementations and is always looking for the next transformational undertaking, which has drawn significant interest from partners, suppliers and the Fintech community. This has enabled First West to rapidly build its technology and digital expertise and move to the forefront of digital transformation initiatives. Furthermore, Darrell ensures his IT experience is used to drive remarkable member experiences, while stewarding best-in-class security of the credit union’s systems and digital assets. Darrell brings board experience, serves as a leader on credit union system committees, is well known as a strong collaborator and solution facilitator in the industry and has helped shape credit union information and payment systems across Canada. Recognized as Vancouver Island’s “Top Forty under Forty” in the Financial Services category, he has earned distinction among his peers and provides mentorship to many within and beyond the financial co‐operative and technology industries.
