Barney Collins is an entrepreneur, investor, advisor and explorer. He is the CEO of LC39 Ventures, which provides leadership advice and growth capital. Barney is the author of the Building Society Diversity Report, first published in 2024 and developed in 2026, to drive change, boost social mobility, and shape a more inclusive future for a sector which is committed to leading with purpose, and setting the standard for inclusive leadership.

Barney provides advice on leadership & strategy; from the increasing competencies required of leaders; the importance of culture; performance, resilience and adaptability in high pressure environments; and the use of data to support effective decision making and drive growth.

Barney is also an Advisor and Non-Executive Director at the Bateman Collins Group which he founded in 2012. The Group includes Bateman Collins & Map Room which provide Executive Search and specialist Consultancy Services.

Barney has a BA (Hons) degree in Geography and Master’s in International Relations (MIS) from Birmingham University. He is also an active explorer and member of the Royal Geographical Society (RGS).
