Alison Emblow is a Senior Manager in the UK Deposit Takers Supervision Directorate of the Prudential Regulation Authority at the Bank of England. She supervises a portfolio of new and specialist banks. She is one of the co-ordinators of the recently formed bank and building society Scale-Up Unit, a cross PRA and FCA initiative designed to provide tailored support for fast-growing and innovative financial firms, helping them to grow sustainably at pace. Alison was one of the authors of the 2025 FCA and PRA Mutuals Landscape Report, which reviewed the role of financial mutuals in the UK’s financial services industry and set out how effective and proportionate regulation can enable sustainable growth of this sector.

Alison has been a supervisor of building societies, credit unions and new and specialist banks since 2015, as part of a career at the Bank of England which has also spanned financial market infrastructure, prudential policy and financial stability.
