As Gen Z moves from renters to first‑time buyers over the next decade, they will bring fundamentally different expectations around digital experience, fairness, flexibility, and innovative ways to own their first home. This session will explore how the mortgage market must evolve to meet those expectations: from seamless digital journeys, distribution, to new product innovation, flexible lending and the role of mutuality in building trust. We will hear from Monzo, Yorkshire Building Society, and Skipton Building Society. Each will bring their perspective on how we can shape a market fit for the future. The panel will examine what Gen Z’s arrival means for product design, distribution, policy, technology, and risk appetite—and ultimately what kind of mortgage market we want in 2036.
