The future of monetary policy

The panel will present their views on how monetary policy can support the economy as the UK exits the European Union, and how policymakers might need to respond to a future economic downturn, given Bank Rate is likely to start from a much lower level than in previous slowdowns. How might the Monetary Policy Committee’s remit, toolkit, and communications need to change, and what would these changes in approach mean for financial institutions?
