Who are the Building Societies Association members?
The Building Societies Association represents all UK building societies, as well as four credit unions. Together these organisations have total assets of over £420 billion and, together with their subsidiaries, hold residential mortgages of over £330 billion, 23% of the total outstanding in the UK. They also hold over £290 billion of retail deposits, accounting for 19% of all such deposits in the UK, including 38% of all cash ISA balances.
